With Lockdowns easing worldwide…who’s going to town?

Terrible benders, puking, and gastritis….today we’ve a gentleman named Alex with gastritis pain. Severe, in the middle abdomen, no reflux or acid taste in mouth, lasting two weeks now.

Common triggers are obviously alcohol, but benign looking drugs like anti-inflammatory lies can do it too e.g. aspirin, Nurofen, Naprogesic, Voltaren..

In order to treat it, sometimes we must pull out the big guns like PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) for the acid blocking action. Now if you follow me for any period of time, you know I am against using these long term: they reduce acid, essential to the activation of digestive juices in your stomach so therefore lead or malnourishment by of Vitamin B12, B6 and folate; it also plays havoc with calcium regulation leading to brittle bones; and finally we’re also learning it messes with the brain with some conjecture that it causes dementia (watch this space)

However for Alex we’re going for a short course of 2 weeks while reducing heavy protein meals and soda and adding in gut-lining-restorative glutamine, aloe vera juice, mastic gum and vegetables for their fibre. We need to re-feed the good bacteria in our gut too see.
